What happens in your free consultation
Every free consultation follows the same simple structure, so you know exactly what to expect.

Who you are, your household or business, and what you want to accomplish.
Understanding the problem
What's going on, how long it's been happening, any deadlines or letters you've received, and what you've tried so far.
A quick look at your documents
If you have them, we'll review key documents together, such as your last tax return, an IRS or state notice, or recent financial reports, to spot issues and opportunities.
Your options
We'll explain the options that fit your situation in plain language, along with what we'd recommend and why.
How your documents are shared
We'll show you exactly what we'd need and how to send it securely through our File Upload Center, with electronic signatures for engagement letters and IRS forms. No mailing or office visits needed.
Next steps
If you'd like to move forward, we'll outline the scope of work, the timeline, and a clear fee quote. There's no pressure to decide during the call.
What the free consultation is, and isn't
It is

- A chance to ask questions and get clear answers
- An overview of your options and our recommendation
- A clear quote if you'd like our help
It isn't
- Preparation of your tax return or financial statements
- A full review of all your records
- Representation before the IRS or your state
- A sales pitch. If we're not the right fit, we'll tell you.

- Any IRS or state letters
For businesses

Common questions
Is the consultation really free?
Yes. Your first one-on-one consultation is free with no obligation. If you decide to work with us, you'll get a clear quote before any paid work begins.
Is the meeting in person or virtual?
Meetings are virtual, by video or phone. In-person meetings are available on request for a fee.
Do I need to send documents before the meeting?
No. Documents are helpful but not required. You can share them during the call, or upload them securely afterward through our File Upload Center.
What if I received a letter from the IRS?
Book as soon as you can and have the letter with you. Most notices have response deadlines, and acting early keeps more options open.
What happens if I decide to move forward?
You'll receive an engagement letter to sign electronically, a list of what we need, and instructions for uploading documents securely. Then we get to work and keep you updated along the way.
Prefer to reach out directly?
Call or email and we'll find a time that works for you.
